Players that are heading to the MLS

Here's our top 3 big signings that will be joining the MLS in July. Lampard, Gerrard and Angelino.

Ahead of the MLS transfer window in July, we have outlined our top three signings who are already confirmed to be joining their side once the window opens:

1. Frank Lampard - New York City FC

Frank Lampard is (PL Club) Chelsea's all time record scorer on 147 goals. Last season he played for Manchester City and despite only 32 appearances, a number from the subs bench he scored 6 goals. Lampard has been known as the type of player who moves the ball well in midfield and regularly finds himself in and around the opponents' penalty area. While some New York fans were disappointed when he stayed at City, the talent he will bring to the side in July, will no doubt re-assure the fans he was worth waiting for.

2. Steven Gerrard - LA Galaxy

Gerrard was a hero at his previous club Liverpool. Scoring in big games over the years such as the FA Cup final and Champions League final. At around the age of 23 Gerrard took over captaincy of Liverpool and has gained a lot of experience in playing that type of role on the pitch, which should aid the Galaxy when he joins. He also has a talent for dominating the midfield and scoring from outside the box. So don't be surprised if we see a few goals from way out, when he joins the MLS.

3. Jose Angel Tasende (Angelino) - New York City FC

While Angelino is a lesser known player to the world than the other two we have picked. He is definitely a talent, playing in Man City's Development Squad including the FA Youth Cup final. He has showed a good pace and a bit of skill as well. Which will suit New York City. He normally plays as a left back known for going forward to overload the opposition defence and should be a good addition to the MLS outfit.

With even more signings to go with players like Pirlo expected to join the MLS we will have another update soon... So follow us on twitter @diamondsoccerus to ensure you don't miss out.
