Going into the game, many would have predicted Germany would have come out on top, but the USA proved them wrong.
Germany went into the game with some great attacking force in the likes of Ozil, Schurrle and Gotze. and this did initially trouble the USA when Gotze scored in the 12th minute.
However, the USA did bring the game back into the game late on and were awarded with a goal after only 5 passes starting from Guzan and coolly finished off by a Mix Diskerud scissor kick.
Germany largely kept possession throughout the second half and the game as a whole but the match looked to be heading to a 1-1 draw.
However, 22 year old striker Bobby Wood had other thoughts on his mind as he scored in the 87th minute. Sending the match to 2-1.
The result marks the USA's first win in Germany and the last match before Klinsmann names his 23 man squad for the Gold Cup. The match resulted in a big step forward for the USA in their soccer standards and maybe some future call ups for Bobby Wood?
