The pre-season for most sides in the NWSL is now underway and this season promises to be an exciting one.
Last season Kansas City won the championship after beating Seattle Reign FC 2-1. This year there have been plenty of new additions to all squads with many taking on trialists from around the globe and have been named in the pre-season rosters.
The pre-season camps for the NWSL teams lead to the ultimate decision, of who is kept on from the pre-season rosters and who won't make the cut. Generally pre-season camps have consisted of focused training sessions, matches against universities & colleges and intra-squad friendlies.
Of course some of the main squad players are not in the pre-season roster, as they have joined up with their international squads for friendlies ahead of the World Cup Competition later this year. While other players are returning from loan spells with foreign clubs whose season is already in progress.
The 2015 season will kick off with Houston Dash vs Washington Spirit at the BBVA Compass Stadium.
With the prospect of winning the title and players representing their country at the World Cup, the NWSL 2015 should be a thriller.
